course is perfect for proffessional performers and blossoming starlets
alike. Learn how to turn an idea into a professional design, tricks of
the trade, insight into where to shop, how to ensure you'll be the belle
of any show (without a hefty price tag), and walk away with your own
personal masterpiece!
PLEAE NOTE: Spaces are EXTREMELY LIMITED. We are currently offering two options of class times, one on Tuesday evenings (Tuesday's Tigers) and one on Saturday afternoons (Saturday's Sirens).
WHAT'S INCLUDED:
All classes are taught in central London (soho area), and last for approximately two hours (one and half hours of instruction and half an hour of personal Q&A after). Students will be emailed what to bring for each class, but nothing is required (apart from your creativity).
ABOUT THE CLASS:
Week One: Turning An Idea Into The Perfect Design.
We
will look at design principles, research, and mood boards to learn how
to turn any idea into a brilliant design that's flattering, unique and
truly divine.
Week Two: Creating Your Masterpiece
With your
design in mind learn to break it down into easy to manage sections, as
well as be privvy to Lolas invaluable list of the best places to shop
online and in London, secret wholesale sites, and tips from performers
across the globe on how to create a masterpiece that costs next to
nothing.
Week Three: Tassels and Craft Night
Learn how to make bespoke tassels/pasties and begin work on your creation. We will also go through bedazzling techniques.
Week Four: Show n' Tell, Finishing Touches and Hair/Makeup Tips
Students
will show how far they've gotten and be given personal tips on the best
finishing touches. Each student will also receive personal tips on how
to complete their look with the perfect hair and makeup from an
award-winning international hairdresser and makeup artist.
ABOUT THE TEACHER:
Lola
LaBelle is an international burlesque performer and producer based in
London. Originally from Los Angeles her costume designs can be seen on
shows on the Sci-Fi Channel, E! TV, clips from the BBC News, Sky TV, and
countless international showgirls and stages from LA to Australia and
across the UK.
